New to darts? Dart playerscan play in bars on teams in Toronto area dart leagues! |
Serving the Black Creek and Weston Road areas of Toronto! ![]() Cafè Graciosa & Sports Bar925 Weston RoadToronto, Ontario, Canada M6N 3R4 Tel: 416.769.4041 Mon-Sat: 11:00-2:00 | Sun: 11:00-1:00 Payment: Visa | Cash | Interac The Bar:
In keeping with its "Social Club" origins, Cafè Graciosa continues to provide a
friendly environment where everyone is welcome. The bar is family owned-and-operated
and is a favourite to many locals of all age groups.
With a Satellite TV feed and 2 High Def plasmas, CG's offers up not just the usual sports programming, but also Nascar, boxing, Ultimate Fighting, and other Pay Per View events. The back room has 3 comfortable leather theatre-style chairs facing a large 55 inch High Def plasma. With darts, pool, foosball, and a satellite TV feed, the back room can be easily booked for private parties and is almost entirely separate from the front part of the bar. Whether you've come to partake in their many social offerings such as dart tournaments or karaoke night - or just to relax with an espresso and to read the paper - this is the sort of place that could easily become a habit. The Dart Area:
With 3 dartboards located in their back area and along one wall, there is a lot of
space for people to move around. The lighting is great and as a dart-friendly
establishment you'll never be left looking for some spare chalk. You're also within
arm's length of the back service area of the bar and refreshing your beverage will
never be an issue. The boards are always in great shape and they need to be -
2 house leagues play darts out of here on 2 different nights!
And just in case 3 dartboards aren't enough, there's a 4th board located on the opposite wall near their lounge area where you could go off on your own to warm-up if you wanted to. The Blind Draw Tournaments:
Dart Leagues on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Tuesdays and Sundays are leagues but we are still taking new players for.
Tuesday (depending on amount of people) 601 Strait in Dbl out.
Tournament $5 a day.
Saturdays are open tournament $2 person/ CG's matches pot same 601 strait in Dbl out.
Sundays is a league but will take new players $5 each person pay-out top teams.
Banquets for all three days.
There are two main dart nights - Wednesdays and Sundays - where upwards of 70 people
of all age groups and skill levels get together and compete on 4 person teams that
are put together through the blind-draw format. The goal of these house-leagues is
to provide players with an opportunity to come out and learn the game of darts and,
more importantly, for everyone to enjoy themselves. The Wednesday league focuses on
four person teams that are mixed doubles (two females and two males if possible).
The Sunday league will soon be offering $1,000 in prize money: the format will remain the same and players will be asked to support the league by offering $3.00 per week. House league systems are great in that you can car-pool if driving is needed and you get to see everyone all in the same venue at the same time. The evenings also tend to finish by 10:30 so if late nights are an issue you can rest assured that you'll get plenty of matches in and be home at a decent hour as well. The Menu:
With better-than-competitive pricing and great portions, we doubt you'll have any
trouble choosing one of the many standard items from their menu. If in doubt, try
the "Jimmy Burger" loaded with all the trimmings and served with fries: at $7.00
it's hard to find a better deal!
There are also weekly specials available such as roast-beef sandwiches and pasta dishes - and all home-made, too! Menu Items:
Directions:
Conveniently located at the foot of Black Creek Drive, you can take the 401 to
where the 400 exits and then take the Black Creek exit right down to the bar.
Whether you are coming from the east or west you'll be at the bar in minutes
once you exit the highway.
If you're coming from anywhere else in the city, Black Creek is located in between Dufferin and Jane streets and the bar is north of St. Clair Avenue and just south of Eglinton Avenue. Parking & Public Transit:
The bar is located on the north-east corner of Weston Road and Black Creek Drive.
If you're using public transit, take the Bloor Danforth subway line to Keele station
and then the Weston Road 89 bus one stop north of Black Creek. You'll be dropped-off
right in front of the bar and the total bus ride is about 10 minutes. Total travel
time from Yonge/Bloor subway is approximately 30 minutes.
There is plenty of lot parking (for free) beside the bar and in the odd event that the lot is full there is always a spot on one of the sidestreets nearby. Also check out:
The Dart Action:
You can find people playing darts here most anytime and it's not hard to find someone to play with if you're looking for some practice.
