Queen Of The Hill I | May 2009 | Debralee Roberts & Marion Carli

Debralee Roberts: Queen of the Hill

Thanks to all the ladies who showed up at the first-ever Queen of the Hill tournament. Quite honestly, you rock! We knew the end of May was a little late for a tournament (as 'dart season' was just a little past us) but we thought that the ladies deserved their very own tournament and it would be a good end to the season.

We had almost 2 dozen ladies out on a terrific late spring day, and with a total prize pool of $440 up for grabs, we thought it was a great start to what we hope will be a local ladies classic. Our original King of the Hill started off with almost the same number of players and has since grown into a great local event with a terrific payout and great darts entertainment.

We had ladies show up from the all corners of the GTA - downtown Toronto, Brampton, Etobicoke, Durham, Markham, and of course, more than half a dozen from the Barrie/Orangeville/Fergus area.

Note: In the recent Nationals in Quebec, Debralee and partner Robin Curry (ON) are National Doubles Champions.

In the end it was Brampton's Debralee Roberts outlasting Marion Carli for the title, winning in a close best of 11 match 6-5.

In addition, we gave away about a dozen small prizes including a custom-made pink leather dart-pouch made for the event and donated by Percy Lioutas.

We thank all ladies for coming out to this inaugural event and hope to see even more when we hold our Queen of the Hill 2 sometime this fall.
