Serving the St. Lawrence, Harbourfront and Theatre District areas of Toronto! ![]() Scotland Yard56 The EsplanadeToronto, Ontario, Canada M5E 1A7 | Tel: 416.364.6572 Sun-Sat: 11:00-2:00 Visa | MC | Amex | Interac | DinersClub | Discover http://www.scotlandyard.ca The Bar:
Located inside Toronto's main tourist area, Scotland Yard is also a
friendly "local" for those who happen to live in the area. Close to
Toronto's Harbourfront, St. Lawrence Market, Theatre and Entertainment
districts, there's always plenty of action along The Esplanade and
never a boring moment.
Perfect for someone looking for a place to enjoy an afternoon lunch or evening beverage on the patio in the summer, or a cozy real pub atmosphere in the colder months, Scotland Yard is an All-Seasons destination. Tucked away inside is one of The Esplanade's hidden gems, Scotland Yard is a must-see literary retreat with lush wood paneling, exposed brick walls, accent columns, leather-bound books, and fireplaces suitable enough for Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson to make a guest appearance! In the main bar area on most evenings you'll find both sports fans watching the game on the big screen TV and NTN trivia players on the smaller sets, and, of course, in summer expect the patio to be a popular retreat. Scotland Yard is suitable for casual attire and is wheelchair accessible. Beers on Tap:
Standard domestics, Guinness, Caffrey's, Kilkenny, Heineken, Strongbow
The Dart Area:
Home for many years to both the Queen Street Dart League and the Metro
Toronto Dart League, Scotland Yard maintains 2 dartboards in a secluded
area where you'll be able to play all night long with minimal disruptions:
as the area is enclosed on two sides you'll find that no one will be
able to interrupt that all-important throw!
The area is well maintained and well lit and an added bonus is that you'll be located right next to the exit to the patio - perfect for those warm summer nights when a well deserved beverage-break (or smoking break, as the case may be) is needed! The Menu:
From such pub favourites as "Guinness Stew" and traditional Fish'n'Chips
(battered in Kilkenny) to "Grilled Salmon Ciabatta" and "Turkey Pesto
Panini", everything is moderately priced and we're certain that there
is something on the menu for any palate.
Daily Specials (4:00-9:00):
The Scotch:
Of course this wouldn't be a traditional Scottish Pub without a fine
selection of single malts to choose from and with prices ranging from
$6.00 to $7.50 we think you'll be quite pleased!
Choose from: Lagavulin, The Glenlivet, Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie. Public Transit:
Take the subway along the Yonge line to the King station and walk south
on Yonge Street past Adelaide and Richmond until you get to Front Street.
Cross the street at Front so that you're on the south side and then head
east along Front Street one block to Scott Street. Go south on Scott Street
one block to the bottom and Scotland Yard will be about 50 yards to your
left (east) on the north-hand side. It may sound like a lot but it's
really a 5 minute walk from the subway.
Driving Directions:
Coming into the city, you'll need to get onto the Gardiner Expressway
and get to Yonge Street, which is east of Spadina and west of Jarvis
(an easy landmark to spot is the C.N. Tower). Go north on Yonge Street
and you'll enter an above-ground tunnel. As soon as you exit the tunnel,
look for "The Esplanade" as you'll need to turn right (east).
Turn onto The Esplanade and head straight two blocks until you see the
"Green P" parking lot on your right (south side). There are always plenty
of parking spots available there but if you're the adventurous type you
can circle around looking for a spot on the street.
Parking:
As mentioned above, you can either use the "Green P" or find a spot on
the street. For convenience and peace-of-mind we'd recommend the "Green P":
it may be a little more expensive, but you'll always find a spot and you
won't get a ticket!

The Dart Action:
Scotland Yard sponsors a team in the Metro Toronto Area Dart League
(MTADL) and hosts them every second Tuesday night during the fall
and spring. As one of the only pubs in the area with active dartboards,
this is the place to go even if it's just to practice your game for
league nights.
