Resurgent John Part wins Players Championship in UK

Fresh off his new sponsorship from Cosmo Darts, a resurgent John Part served notice on Sunday by winning the 2011 Player's Championship in Derby, UK over Mark Walsh.

Part missed a D12 to just miss a perfect game on Saturday, before going on to win the 35,000 GBP event on Sunday.

Part has recently left Unicorn darts to become the highest profile player to join the Cosmo Darts team, makers of the Fit Flight dart system.

Huge Darts News - John Part Signs with Cosmo Darts

The news broke this week that 3-time World Champion and native Torontonian John Part has been signed to sponsorship deal with Cosmo Darts, makers of the Fit Flight system.

This deal ends Part's relationship with previous long-time sponsor Unicorn and immediately propels Cosmo Darts into one of the msot talked about names in darts the world over.

In related news, we at TorontoDarts.com announced this week we have signed an agreement with Cosmo Darts to be an exclusive dealer for their product in Canada. Canadians Claim the World Record!

Paul O'Shaugnessey and Lenny McNevin did Canada proud this past weekend as they claimed the Guinness World Record for longest darts marathon singles match.
We followed these 2 gents for the past couple of months and want to say a big Thanks to the boys for all the work you've done raising the profile of darts in this country in such a positive way.

Geraldine (Dena) Casey

King of the Hill qualifier darts It is with sadness we note the sudden passing a long-time Toronto dart player Geraldine (Dena) Casey. A native of England, Dena was a long-time MTADL and QSDL dart enthusiast who played primarily out of the Duke of Gloucester at Yonge and Bloor.

A nurse by profession, and owner of an eldercare company, Dena will be sadly missed by friends, family, and clients. Her kindness and compassion deeply touched all those who knew her.

Congrats to our Top 2 men Bruce Davey (1st) and Terry Hayhurst (2nd) as well as our Top 2 Ladies Cindy Pardy (1st) and Shelley Watson (2nd) in this past Saturday's King and Queen Qualifiers in Niagara Falls. In additition Dan Breen and Rob Beckham received tickets to the Singles Finals with Bernie Miller and Bill Gooder getting top spot and tickets to the Doubles Finals, all on April 16th, 2011.

Friday Night Blind Draw lands at Maydays

The organizers of the Friday Night Blind Draw have just informed us the long-running tourney will go forward with Mayday Malone's (1078 Bathurst Street at Dupont) for the next little while. We like Maydays and think it's a great dart pub. With General Manager Johnny Luv an avid dart player himself, we think the Friday Night crowd will grow to love this little bar that loves darts.

Canada's First Tournament Videos in High Def!

At TorontoDarts.com we've been working hard on innovation and doing what's never been done before. Apart from getting more people out to play and bringing new people into the sport of darts, we're giving veteran players what they've asked us for - More tournaments and footage of tournaments online. We're happy to announce that we've uploaded Canada's first HD videos of major dart tournaments to YouTube - The TorontoDarts.com King of the Hill series. To make it convenient for you to find, we've added it to our video page where we will be providing video footage from all major tournaments we run in the future.

New Sunday Blind Draw in Toronto

Big Ronnie's at 1162 Danforth Ave (4 Doors West of Greenwood Ave.) is now hosting a weekly Blind Draw on Sunday afternoons. Registration closes strictly at 1PM, so be sure to get there early. This location is easy to get to by subway and there is paid street parking in front on Danforth Ave. Also, this venue is owned by a along-time dart player who is making good on his promise to "Do darts up right" since taking over in early January. Give it a shot and let us know what you think
